New Organic Standards and What They Mean To You

Since the inception of Pure Fun, all of our products have been USDA certified organic. Our Canadian friends may have wondered though, “Why aren’t organic products certified in Canada?”

The reason why is, there hasn’t until now been an official Canadian organic standard. As of June 30, 2009, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency will begin enforcing new regulations on organic products. Under these new rules, in order to be certified organic, a product’s ingredients must be at least 95% organic. If they are certified organic, they will feature this Canadian Organic logo. It will take a while for companies to start featuring this logo on their products.

These standards and the new organic logo will go a long way to clear up any confusion you may have as a consumer of organic products. In the future, when you see products featuring this logo, you can be sure that the product you are purchasing is in fact organic.

You can also trust the USDA logo. Canada and the United States have signed the world’s first organic equivalency agreement, which means that both countries will accept each other’s standards as equal. Because of this agreement, Pure Fun’s products are already certified organic. Know that you can eat Pure Fun products with confidence because they are certified organic in Canada, the United States and Europe.

You’ll be happy to know that Pure Fun candies are also certified Kosher, Non-GMO, Vegan and Gluten Free!
