CANADIAN HEALTH FOOD ASSOCIATION
The Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) is a non-profit federally chartered trade association. Its 1,300 members include retailers, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, consultants and other associations that are involved in a variety of industry sub-sectors such as supplements, vitamins, herbals, homeopathics, sports nutrition products, natural foods and organic products.

The Association’s roots trace back to Vancouver where it was founded in 1964 as the Canadian Health Food Dealers Association. At that time, a group of individuals interested in the natural health products industry joined together to give one another mutual support and to provide people with information and services to create better health through good nutrition. In 1966 the organization was renamed the Canadian Health Food Association. Since then, scientific and public awareness of the natural health products industry has increased and the scope of the CHFA has broadened significantly.

The CHFA promotes the views and interests of its members and provides leadership to its members by promoting natural health products, whole foods and organics as the primary source of well-being for all Canadians. Through advocacy, education, communications and promotional initiatives, the CHFA continues to reinforce its role as the voice of the natural products industry.

KOSHER CERTIFICATIONS
The KOF-K emblem is the internationally recognized trademark of KOF-K Kosher Supervision, one of the foremost Kosher certification agencies in the United States.

Only those products and services meeting the strictest standards of Kosher law are permitted to display the symbol, which is protected under Federal law against unauthorized use. When consumers see the KOF-K on a product, they know they are buying food that meets the highest levels of Kashruth (Kosher law).

KOF-K is directed by a staff of Kosher food production specialists, each an expert in various aspects of the food industry. Always available for consultation are flavor chemists, dairy and bakery professionals, meat processing advisers and computer experts. The Kashruth policies are governed by a Rabbinic committee who review and decide all questions of Halacha (Jewish law) which may arise in the course of food production.

USDA Organic
We at Pure Fun™ are proud to have achieved all the necessary standards to qualify for the USDA seal of approval.

USDA's National Organic Program regulates the standards for any farm, wild crop harvesting, or handling operation that wants to sell a food product as organically produced.

The Organic Foods Production Act (OFPA), enacted under Title 21 of the 1990 Farm Bill, served to establish uniform national standards for the production and handling of foods labeled as "organic." The Act authorized a new USDA National Organic Program (NOP) to set national standards for the production, handling, and processing of organically grown agricultural products. In addition, the Program oversees mandatory certification of organic production. The Act also established the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) which advised the Secretary of Agriculture in setting the standards upon which the NOP is based. Producers who meet standards set by the NOP may label their products as "USDA Certified Organic."

"The new organic standard offers a national definition for the term "organic." It details the methods, practices and substances that can be used in producing and handling organic crops and livestock, as well as processed products. It establishes clear organic labeling criteria, and specifically prohibits the use of genetic engineering methods, ionizing radiation, and sewage sludge for fertilization.
